Introduction to the teamThe National Tax team and plays an instrumental role in the achievement of firm tax practice goals, particularly as it relates to technical tax matters. This position is responsible for collaborating with tax leaders and team members from across the firm and the National Office functional teams including assisting teams on client-specific tax matters, training on technical matters, staying informed on developing tax legislation, and creating internal and external tax-related communications, to directly impact our tax practice.Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills - Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.

Responsibilities:Serve as a trusted tax technical resource for the firm by proactively developing internal and external working relationships and responding to team member inquires Drive resolution of complex tax technical matters that have high levels of uncertainty and riskCollaborate with individuals at all levels within the firm to identify and develop opportunities and expand tools/resources for tax technical services (eg, corporate or partnership)Lead technical tax research and communicate findings as appropriate (both written and verbal)Manage projects and provide coaching and development to people that support tax practice initiativesCollaborate with the Learning & Development team to facilitate development and delivery of tax technical trainingDevelop internal and external written tax communications related to technical tax matters and tax law developmentsEvaluate implications of new tax law changes including regulatory and administrative guidance and provide recommendations to tax leadership as needed Conduct technical research related to tax positions taken and communicate findings as appropriateParticipate in internal and external activities to attain visibility and recognition within a technical specializationQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, emphasis in accounting or a related field preferred; Advanced degree in Taxation highly desired Minimum of 7 years tax professional experience required; experience in a public accounting or law firm, and/or experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferredCPA or Bar License requiredExperience coaching and managing a team including the technical development of tax professionals requiredAdvanced knowledge of technical taxation and associated structures including the ability to research tax positionsFamiliarity with research software and comfortable working with the Internal Revenue code, regulations, and authoritiesSelf-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy in ambiguous circumstancesStrong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues to others and effectively present to large or small groupsStrong organizational skills; able to effectively prioritize assignments and competing deadlines in a fast paced environment Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%Here, you'll be challenged and rewarded for leadership, technical excellence, and inspired perspectives.
